Description
Carolina Sunset Abelia is a compact, rounded shrub grown for its colorful foliage and long season of landscape interest. Although established Abelias tolerate our summer heat well, newly planted shrubs should receive supplemental watering during extended hot or dry periods. Avoid constantly wet locations—good drainage is especially important during our cool, wet winter periods.
Good to Know
Abelias flower on new growth, so occasional pruning will not eliminate an entire season of flowers. Plants may remain largely evergreen during mild Central NC winters but can lose some foliage following unusually cold weather.
